The Lake Houston Conquerors offer competitive homeschool basketball with a Christian spirit. Our goal is to utilize basketball to build character, surround our children with Godly mentors who will sow into their lives, and to be faithful witnesses of our Christian faith.

Practice begins the next to last Monday of August with team assignments coming after the first four practices. Regular season games start around November 1st, and we host our own Tip-Off Challenge round-robin tournament the second weekend of November. The season culminates with all our teams participating in the NCHBC Big South Regional tournament held in the DFW area. Some of our teams will even go on to compete in the NCHBC National tournament held annually in Springfield, MO.

LHC has boys’ and girls' teams from 10U to 18U so we’re sure we can find a team for you to be a part of. Regardless of whether you’re a novice beginner or a highly-skilled veteran of the game, we encourage players of ALL skill levels to come give LHC a try.

BASKETBALL FAQs
BB FAQS
  • Where are games located?
All practices and home games are located at The Gym - 2325 Atascocita Rd, Humble, TX 77396. Away games can be up to two hours from The Gym in Houston and surrounding areas.
  • How do I register?
Please complete the registration online form and pay a deposit by the first practice (Aug 19th). Payment in full can be made at the Information Session or at the first few practices but must be prior to Sept 9th. You can print out the online registration form or the prior registration form and forms and mail them in with a check for payment. If you send a check through mail, please make your check out to LHC and mail it to PO Box 5018 Kingwood, TX 77325.
  • How much are my basketball fees?
Fees are $350 for ages 8-10 (as of July 31st of the current year) and $475 for ages 11-12 and $600 for ages 13-18 (as of July 31st of the current year). This does not include the cost of the uniforms which will be purchased later. Uniform costs are estimated to be in the range of $65-$90 depending on the age group. Varsity teams may have the additional cost of purchasing team shooting shirts.
  • What if there is not a team?
Every effort will be made to make a team. We will pull up from younger age groups if possible, to fill a team. BUT we will not deplete the younger team to fill the older team. We will ask younger players to play on two teams. IF no team is made due to lack of registrations, then your fees will be returned.
  • Are there tryouts?
Yes, the coaches will assess the players abilities during the first 4 practices and select their roster numbering between 8-12 players. However, the coach is not required to carry a full roster if he/she feels a player is not developed enough to compete at their age level.
  • Why set limits?
This allows the coaches to develop the players better. The smaller team sizes offer the teams a more manageable size allowing for more playing time for each member of the team as well as improving the opportunities for player development.
  • When are practices?
There will be two practices a week (Monday & Thursday) until games begin per court availability. Once games begin we will try to still have a practice once a week but not at the expense of missing an opportunity to play a game.
  • When do games start and finish?
Games usually start the first week of November, but occasionally we might have a late October game or tournament. There is a possibility that our Varsity teams will attend the Homeschool Basketball Nationals in March.
  • Who are the coaches and assistant coaches for each of the teams?
Feel free to email lhcbballprgdir@gmail.com for a list of coaches. If you are interested in being a coach or assistant coach, please complete this form.
